Swap, Sell, and Share with buddy.art at Index on March 22

How can an artist’s work and resources contribute to someone else’s artistic process? What techniques or skills can be shared to strengthen collegial exchange? It could be a truck for rent, a lens for sale, or sharing a technique such as mushroom cultivation.

As part of the CALL IT MUSEUM program at Index, Magnus Liistamo – buddy.art presents a marketplace consisting of materials submitted by artists. A place that unites the experience of, on one hand, a desire to explore the social function of art, and on the other, a continuous dialogue about its material practice.

By creating a space for exchange between artists, the relationship between material needs, production, and knowledge transfer is explored—through a combination of physical marketplaces and a digital platform. A place where what is sold, exchanged, or borrowed creates opportunities for conversations about artistic work and knowledge sharing.

Re-circulation – where materials, ideas, and skills continue their journey between artists. A peer-to-peer space that fosters artistic work as a collective practice, where resources and knowledge are interwoven through sharing.

buddy.art is a platform and workshop for artistic agency, aiming to build structures for an artistic sharing economy that puts resources and experiences in motion.
